How to know the quality of Diamonds
Diamond is the most important, iconic and expensive gem of our century. Many factors such as improved faceting technology, newly discovered mines, industrial consolidation and marketing have made it so. There are many natural properties of diamonds that make it special for us.
The best diamond clarity rating is Flawless (FL). These are the rarest diamonds in the world; less than 0.05% of all diamonds are Flawless or Internally Flawless. As clarity improves through the scale, we move up to slightly included (SI) and very slightly included (VVS) grades until we reach the Internally Flawless (IF) and Flawless (FL) clarity grades. Included-3 clarity represents the lowest official clarity grade for a diamond.

You will notice that the aspect of the diamond is almost white, while the aspect of the glass or quartz is rather transparent.

And finally, diamonds are special as minerals because they make rainbows. This is called dispersion, and this is unique in diamond height. (Other gemstones with high dispersion include Zircon, and CZ). When you spin a diamond in the light, you will catch a glimpse of "fire," a flash of colored light.
